Primary children can make the sweetest and funniest comments in class. We would like to feature some of these memorable sayings and interactions on our Primary blog. Please share any special teaching moments with Lora Cook so that we can all enjoy and appreciate the priceless teaching experiences we are so fortunate to have as Primary workers.
To start off this segment of the blog, I will share something that happened in the Sunbeams class that I was substitute teaching for recently. The lesson was about Jesus Christ being the son of God. I had asked the children questions about their own fathers such as, “What is your dad’s name? What does your dad do?” Three of the Sunbeams had fathers who were all going to become dentists. Later in the lesson I was telling the children stories from the Savior’s life such as his birth, teaching at the Temple, and also his baptism by John the Baptist. We then played a review game where I had pictures of these events and when the picture of Jesus being baptized was shown again, I asked the children who baptized Jesus. They were all looking at each other and then one girl excitedly said, “Oh, it was John!” Her friend added, “Yeah, John the Dentist!” They all nodded in agreement.
